Saliva Testing
Identifying salivary PH and the types and amounts of bacteria present in the mouth enables dental clinicians to accurately determine the risk for oral infection. It also provides information that’s helpful in determining the best treatment in the presence of an oral infection.
A saliva pH below 7.0 usually indicates abnormal acidity of the blood (acidemia) causing the mouth to be more susceptible to dental decay, bad breath and periodontitis and can be a causative factor for a multitude of diseases affecting the whole body.
